The weekend at Kampung Sg. Pusu

Kampung Sg. Pusu, as described by Joe Adnan, KLMBH is a jungle biking trail and consist also of walking trail which lead to a lakeshore. I was introduced to this trail by Doc, my neighbour in which I coincidentally bumped into at a local trail.

Within the road to Gombak itself, the scenery was spectacular. We passed by Kemensah and had sight of the famous Bukit Batu Tabur, also known as The Klang Gates ridge. This is also mentioned by Joe as the longest quartzite ridge in the world. We parked our car in Kampung Sg. Pusu itself and rode into the trail which started with a lengthy climb. The weather was perfect for riding although the trail is muddy and wet from the rain. We stopped at a hill which oversees an abandoned project and proceeded into the jungle which is mostly singletrack, with bamboo forest. Several felled bamboo probably from pre-festive preparations for lemang can be seen along the trail. The trail goes on with more hills, of some which require pushings and deep ruts.

It was downhill (obviously after a climb), going toward a river where we had our break and nice dip. The place look more like a private pool to me at that time as the whole lot of us enjoyed the refreshing and cooling water. No one would want to watch the whole bunch half-naked swimming anyway. Unless there's water snakes or tortoises nearby ... ahem, thinking of biting your little 'bird', I couldn't be bothered.

We climbed up the route again to return to the trailhead. Challenging, undulating hills I would say with added murky, deep ruts, fallen logs along the way. My rear tyre (from the cheapskate patch) leaked upon reaching the trailhead, thank God. I didn't bothered changing tubes until I got back home. It was 11.30 when we got out. Doc sent Bandit back and we chatted on the silly endo and the climbs we had earlier today.

Next week will be the much awaited Presidential Ride. 60 kilometres of pleasurable torture in 4 stages.
